there's this neil young song that i like to sing, "
falling off the face of the earth". the words are simple, but the sentiment + music + harmonies get it right. the lines i'm thinking about are these:
i just want to thank you
for all the things you've done
i'm thinking about you
and just want to send my love
i send my best to you
that's my message of love
for all the things you did
i can never thank you enough
i like that song because it speaks a conversation i wish i could have with you, my dear friends. of course i would be the one talking and you would have to sit there listening to my monologue (look up the lyrics for yourself). i'm always thinking about departure. can't seem to shake it from the corners of my memory, but there are some that come more easily than others.
perhaps she's already mentioned it, but let me make mention now that my 10-minute-away, long-time-pal & harmonizing junkie doctor will be heading to the land of 10,000 lakes for long-term employment in july. and let me go a bit further and brag: the med-ped resident is the 2010 resident of the year (voted by her peers!!). that girl has been workin' hard, focussing on her work, and loving those she meets each & every day!
so....three cheers for kgv!!!
