Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd...Death of the Nap

update
we're at the end of our second week of (with a loud, booming voice).... "our first official year of home-schooling".  i would like to say that these past lessons have been taught with fluidity and ease.  that we've found our rhythm and each morning from 9-11 a bright light of wisdom visits our dining room table.  the hardest part to this beginning has not been the planning or the actual lesson presentation.  rather, the most difficult task has been to keep the younger two children occupied.

my good friend rachel came over one morning and took the younger kids outside for 30 minutes so annabelle and i could focus without distraction.  we had such a good time reading short words and sentences.

Alice (Cook) here - I want to put in a request that you keep blogging this beginning of schooling at home. We have those plans but they are still a few years down the road. I feel like knowing you a bit from college and getting glimpses into this start (with the ups and downs) is already a great encouragement.
