strange to hear of Heath Ledger's death yesterday. when Michael & I heard about it, we both felt like we got punched in the gut. and were suprisingly saddened over it. i don't know if it was because it came as a surprise, or because he was as old (young) as both of us, or a reminder of our own mortality, or what. i was surprised that i would be so moved over the death of a celebrity.

i was shocked and saddened over the death of brad renfro (little guy from "the client") last week, who was 25. i grew up with posters of him on my wall, so it felt personal.
and i think ledger's death made me sad mostly because of his little girl, who is around our kids' ages. thinking of her without a dad. crazy.
dumb drugs.
yeah. i thought of reese not having her daddy around anymore, and whether she'd even remember him. really sad.
it does seem personal. that hits it right on the head. good phrase!
maybe it's doubly sad because it didn't HAVE to happen. seems that way, anyway.
i'm glad someone posted something about him passing away - I thought about it ALL day yesterday and quite a bit again today. I wasn't a huge fan, I didn't follow his career, but it seems to be pretty haunting to me for some reason.
