Okay. So a few of us have fessed up to names we've made up (for whatever reason) for our nephews, nieces, kids, etc. Appropriately:
What nicknames did your parents, relatives, friends, etc...have for you (or still have for you) when you were younger...up to the present. And feel free to answer for others, except Ali & Darby, because they're related & that's not fair.

oh, man! my family called me Neener, or Nee Nee Rae - because my brother couldn't say "Lindsay" when he was little and that's what came out. my dad especially still calls me Neener.
in school i got called Lutterbug or Lutterpants (read: LOO-ter-pants) sometimes, because of my last name: Lutterman. ahh. fond memories. ;-)
nothing very exciting for me. since my parents lived in bolivia from the time i was 14 mon. -4, they often called me (martha) martita (and coninued to after we returned to the US. (not on a consistent basis)
my last yr. in high school, the headmaster started calling me "cricket". i'm told it was b/c of my "chirpy" voice (which up til then, i was unaware of). with some friends, it caught on and lasted into college and nurses' training. most people that knew me back then didn't really consider me a "martha". it was a dated name back then (the 60's). the easy way to go would have been marty, but to me it wasn't girly enough so i didn't encourage it. when i run into people who call me "cricket", i know they are from a very short part of my life from WAY back...and it is always a delight! m
Let's see...I've been called Charibba (said with a Mexian accent), Chari, Charissa Joy (not a nickname...but used when I was in trouble), Sid (as in Sid-Charise), Omar (as in Omar Charise), Chim-Chim Chari (like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins...Chim-Chiminy, Chim-Chiminey), Missy Muffet (also when I was in trouble...I've used this one on my girls). I can still hear my mom saying..."you'd better watch it missy muffet, you're treading on thin ice!"
I missed Monday's discussion...I very affectionately call my children "Peep"...don't know where it came from, but it's stuck... punkin, punk-a-lunkin. Also...Katie: KK slider, Katydid, Katie Grace, Katherine Grace (when in trouble)....Maddie: Maddie Moo, Mad-Maddie (she was a "difficult" baby), Madeline Rose (in either a sing-songy voice or in an angry tone)...Josiah: Joe, Little Joe, mister or little mister, little man, buddy, Daddy calls him little dude.
I've written enough...but I LOVE nicknames. In fact it's one of the #1 factors when selecting a name for our kids...it has to be a name that can be shortened into a likeable nickname. All six of us kids had names that could be shortened...even Justin was nicknamed Just or J.W. --Chari
daph, didi, d, daph-a-roo, daffodel, daphne del (my real name), jolly green giant (tallest kid in class), daffy duck, daphne delectible or daphnedelexcellent, sug or sugs (as in sugar. only caleb uses that one).
weird, cause i dont remember my parents or other adults ever calling me by a nickname! OH! except my 10th grade history teacher. he called me daphne yuck or simply, yuck.
from my parents & sister/sam: (everyone had this one) carebear, carona barona, my carona, the clanging gong that will not go away.
from pals; caronia, sniff, caridad, bonnie, carol, double E, double D (wonder what this refers to?!), c-money, little potato, ROCK & ROLL GOD!!! (made that one up!), mrs. easley (my name).
my kids' favorite: monster-brain-eater!!!
AJ, Al, Big Al, Leesh, sweetie and Babe...
hmmm.
corrie laurie (by uncle lane), cor-cor (aunt jann),
corrito (originated with caron), corriebear (made by my sarahP),
corrie o. (last name was owings)
"o" (all elementary school friends)
owings (lotsa h.s. friends)
small fry (for obvious reasons)
small one (again, obvious)
sharon (by easley/borland family members... all in-laws rhyme with "aron/erin" except for me and i had to fit in too... caron, darin, erin and corrie just doesn't work)
and when my mom was frustrated at me she would often call me "carrie" trying to get my real name out, but just couldn't make it...
--corrie
small one, small one, small one for sale. anyone remember that cartoon?!
i like to call cheryl: cher-roll.
daphne: dathne
darby: darbonator, #5
darci: darth
caron: car-car binks, gimley
kate: kate the great
snark, charby chuckle-pie (dad)
darby-dooby (mom)
grandma (caron)
i think corrie wins with the most nicknames - my favorite is when your mom calls you carrie.
my second favorite is when joyce calls cheri "miss muffit" when she's in trouble.
