CORRECTION: i think the annie dillard novel is probably only available in hard cover. this is hard on the wallet & i bet it'll be hard to across at the library. and it's longer than i thought.how's that book you posted about for length, alicia? i didn't get a chance to see the link.

okay so there are two great suggestions out there.
1. alicia's suggested book, which i cant find a link to or the name right now.
2. the book that caron suggested here.
lets do a secret ballot.
email me, cast your vote on which of the two books you wanna read for the august who cares weekend.
do it now.
I just took the post down - I deleted it when everyone commented on the other posts nearby by just didn't say anything about the book - I assumed no word was a "no" :-)
let's read Caron's book! that is my public vote :-)
i'll read any book! but not till next week at the earliest - gotta get my Omaha library card!
back to packing. this sucks.
sorry to change the post. i was out for walk tonight, wondering why it took annie dillard so long to write this novel & then realized: it's probably only in hardcover & i think it's 250+ pages. i'm a sloooow reader. (actually, i have annabelle read books aloud to me...hehe)
anyway...
ooh. me slow too.
how about the new Jackie Collins novel! (snicker, snicker, snort snort) :-)
hehe. GREAT idea, lindsay. you're just giddy about the move. back to paradise, eh? :)
i'd hit up some of the christy miller series again. :)
sweet. i think a book about the plains, and a woman is a great choice. i do love annie dillard (dearly!) but would prefer to go paperback or library for sure -- maybe another time, when its available. so lets do alicia's original suggestion. alicia can you repost a link to that book!? i know i didnt comment at the time, but i thought it looked great.
p.s. i got soooooooooooooooooooooooooo many votes in my email inbox i couldn't even count them! wow.
daphne...were u being sarcastic?! i'm assuming NO ONE voted since that "sooooooooo" was soooooo long!
o, sarcasm.
:) tee hee
i WAS giddy. now i have a big fat headache. i have now made a big move during each of my pregnancies. WHY i time them so, i can't say. i can just say, i don't recommend it! oy. i need some more sleep.
PS - caron, i was up at 5:30 this morning - wide awake - and thought of you. it was wierd to drink coffee before 6. :-)
