snorah

it was another full night of kids being awake, doing stomach-flu things. needless to say, i'm looking forward to labor more & more as each sleepless night passes. a room all to myself, with one little sleepy newborn & breakfast, lunch, & dinner in bed. the "do not disturb" door hanger.

anyway...in the middle of making some strong coffee to get me going, i caught this little clip of norah jones on sesame street. i've seen it before, but for some reason, i just laughed & laughed & laughed. i think i was confusing the kids. "mom, it's not THAT funny."

she sucks. REM shows everybody how it's done on sesame street.

doesn't she seem a little boring, though? a little cheesy? michael stipe COMMITS to sesame street. norah just drips along. show me some fire, norah! you don't get to sing with elmo every day.

anybody recall the paul mccartney episode, where he sings "letter B"?

YES! as a matter of fact, i sang "Let It Be" like "letter B" til that beatles documentary came out in '96. sir paul, you confused thousands of impressionable young minds!

now now....you can't be vindictive on sesame street. "Y" stood her up. how's a girl 'sposed to feel? all sad & gloomy is how i'd feel if "Y" or "D" or "W" didn't show up. droopy, confused, sad.

but wait: my original point...the video made me laugh. now i can't remember why it made me laugh. perhaps i was projecting my own "i-don't-get-no-sleep" sadness. like "zzz's" stood me up, again!

no Caron, it is funny! it is awesome! I told nate all about how great it was - she was so dramatic about being stood up and kids totally don't get it, but its' funny and clever and I loved it :-)
