cabin fever

we drove south on hwy 4 for 30 minutes, snaked around some corn fields & wooded areas & met jason for lunch at his latest worksite: a cabin built by slaves in 1810. there were old ax marks in the exposed beams & joists where the wood was sized & cut for construction some 200 years ago. it was originally built for jefferson's men & was located in arkansas until it was moved to this lakeside location in central, southern illinois. what a cool job.
