so here's some new stuff that i think you should at least check out. okay? okay.
Sean Hayes: Big Black Hole & the Little Baby Star (the title track of his new cd. a little more Jack Johnsony than his other stuff, but fun. esp. for spring. Jack Johnson might be a bad word on here. who knows! who cares!)
Bonnie Raitt: Love Me Like a Man (the best version is on "Road Tested". stanley fish could go to town with this song. anyway, the most exciting thing is that she PLAYS it herself. lots of women can sing. but not lots can play like that. damnation.)
Rory Block: County Farm Blues (a little dark, but awfully nice)
you know something? on who cares, we're frank with each other about what we like and what we don't like. i like that about us. haha. we're not afraid to shoot each other down. for example, a certain blog member suggested edith piaf a while ago and subsequently had to offer a defense for liking it (a rather unsuccessful defense, at that). recently a certain other blog member recommended "the girl in the cafe" to certain ones of us. some certain ones liked it better than some certain other ones. (3 out of 5 people vs. 4 out of 5 people). so yeah. here i am. recommending stuff to you all. we'll see what happens. i'm a toughie. you can shoot straight with me.
ps. monday was Casimir Pulaski Day. how do you like that? and i was even in chicago!

i would just like to say that i think i'm about to ex-communicate some WHOCARES members for not sticking with their loyalties. this was a democracy...shortly this blog will be under my reign. you will do as i say...and NOT give "girl in the cafe" 4 out of 5. ah.
whatever. just kidding.
but still, i feel betrayed.
happy belated casimir pulaski day.
i remember at michael's house...
speaking of disagreements. some time ago i voiced my longtime admiration for bonnie raitt and was silenced with an icy stare. you know who you are, caron. i guess i've never regained musical credibility after the celine dion debacle. sigh. anyway, thanks for recommending her, ali, i feel vindicated. and i'll check out your other suggestions. and i probably won't see "the girl in the cafe." i heard it sucked. you know who you are, caron.
Along that vein, I have decided to write a book on my declarative statement in reference to the revered (by some in our group - perhaps all but myself) Bob Dylan. I'm working on it as we speak...in fact, I have a source who grew up with him. Have no doubt, I will prove this one - I will get to the bottom of this farce Robert Alan Zimmerman!
look out! who cares is about to divide! factions!
hahaha. no, no. in matters of taste, there is NO disputing. that's what i say. who cares members can like celine dion. or bon jovi, even. or jack johnson.
although if d. goes after bobby d, that's it. that is IT, man.
