i was listening to the radio yesterday. i had some sort of blinding damascus moment.

background: last friday. we receive a bunch of bills from my night-of-darby's-wedding-kidney-stone-ordeal (and the previous day i was there at the hospital, too)...and we are tossed about. because there ain't no insurance to cover those tallies. we are blue and sad and i am crying because TRUE it's my health but it's MY health, nobody else's...so i get this idea that it's MY fault and just feel bad and of course jason knocks all of those ideas as silly and we wake up saturday still down. but then this:

you know switchfoot. so i hear two of their songs back-2-back and the lines that stuck out to me:

-we were meant to live for so much more.

we were dumb. we were caught up and tossed about. but that's not us. we're not fear, money, security driven...we were playing a part because we forgot that HE provides. HE covers us. HE knows the way. pop music. it can even happen on 98.5.
